Two more...

Edo, Kwara, Ondo, and Kaduna all gone to PDP. Someone is asking me, will these elections stand? Only Kano and Taraba to come.

I don't know your source of information, but I can say this for fact: Ondo state result is controversial. The result was announced in Abuja by some INEC official. Some hours later, the Ondo State INEC resident Commissioner addressed the press saying the results have not been released.

NOTE: Results should be announced in the states where elections held not from Abuja. Why do this in Ondo State?

Why would the feds go ahead and announce results under investigation?

There'll certainly be judicial challenges but I think PDP has been fairly smart in avoiding barefaced robbery in the most contentious states so making it more likely that the overall feeling will be that the results should stand... it'll also depend on what evidence the opposition has been able to gather of irregularities- remember Peter Obi in 2003

according to the supreme court if you are a twenty year old caucasian american male of dual citizenship and are duly apointed by a Nigerian political party as their candidate INEC has no right to disqualify you.

With today's pronouncement by the supreme court, has the case of the opposition been weakened? Has the governments case been strenghtened? Can we have any grounds of complaint that Atiku was prevented from running in next saturday's presidential election? Can new ballot papers be printed in time? When the Court Ordered shortly before the election, the Inclusion of Ngige's Name on Guber Candidates' List, what happened? Can Atiku be joyous in light of the judgment, even if he disagrees with the outcome at the state level? Will Buhari be hoping for a coup-detat, considering that ANPP has 4 of 36 states, with 4 states yet to be announced?

It may be too early to give an answer to these questions, however, I can imagine the power hungry opposition - blood will be boiling. In the next few days, this may be chronically elevated. Hope none suffers a heart failure.

I saw the below on the BBC website http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6558801.stm

"Victorious PPA candidate Theodore Orji is in prison on corruption charges.

The Independent National Election Commission (Inec) said two other south-eastern states - Imo and Enugu - will have to re-run their elections because of irregularities"

Does anyone else know of a country who elects a state governor who is in Jail? And damn those "irregularities" must have been major to warrant cancelation in Naija.

@ kush: nkruma was elected from prison. He had been convicted and was serving 3 jail terms of a year each. However not on corruption charges.
