The times - has it come to this?

Man stabbed in broad daylight. At the bus stop. Stabbed four times. Once in the face. The policeman's words: vicious. Blue CSI shell suits. Kids on summer holiday. The average Londoner captured on film every five minutes. New Cross Road. The victim being operated on in hospital. CCTV camera facing somewhere else. In front of my oyster card shop. Onlookers gasp. Buses and cars diverted. Recent knife amnesty. Blood probably melded into red paint on bus stop. The city carries on. My neighbourhood...

Well, it does make me wonder, I was between London Bridge and Tower Bridge and saw 2 notices hardly 500 metres between them about grievous crimes and requests for witnesses.

In July and August, you can guess, I think not think London was this violent when I left 6 years ago.
