Couple caught in mosque sex romp

Tried to be as tabloid as possible. Yup, a couple were caught doing the dirty in a mosque in Kenya. Not exactly sure what to say...

that's a sick sick act. how could people desecrate a place of worship like that? sex might be a natural act, but it has its place, and thats most certainly not in any place where the religion is not based on sex itself.

they definitely deserved a prison sentence, but perhaps some further lesson might also be applicable. how about 6 months of lectures from a group of celibate priests and religious clerics on the evils of sex? that ought to fix them...

That was very tabloid of you....but 18 months is a long sentence, what was the charge, blasphemy? If that happened here I really have no idea what they would charge them with. The blasphemy law in this country only relates to christianity......

I wonder what the punishment would have been if they had been caught in a synagogue or a church?

It is amazing how we pay more credence to temples of wood and stone built by men than temples of the body crafted and framed by a greater being if you are a creationist, it might not matter to evolutionists.

I suppose in England, they might have suffered a charge of Outraging Public Decency in a place of worship. (I like the way the English phrase their rap sheets).

A fine for that "crime" should have sufficed, a custodial sentence is a case of the judiciary hijacked by a fundamentalist slant regardless of the religion affected.

It is a misuse if not a miscarriage of justice.

You couldn't have made it up!

Beats the one about the man forced to 'marry' a goat he'd been caught in flagrante with. I saw that on the BBC website and wondered if someone was having a laugh. Turned out it was true.

Sex in a holy place is a sacrilege, many will argue. I feel sorry for the couple, banged (no pun intended) up for 18 months. Still, they should thank their lucky stars they were not in a hardline Islamic country, or it'd be a lot worse.
